Have to Get Poppi Qt Pi Again in New Game+
I've thoroughly enjoyed Xenoblade Chronicles ii despite not liking the wearisome battle organization at first. So much that I decided to continue playing after finishing the game to fight all the unique monsters, collect all the Rare Blades and complete side quests for the actress cutscenes.
Collecting all the rare blades and maxing out Poppi QT Pi was the nigh time consuming so here'south some tips and info on what to do after finishing the primary story.
Annotation:
This was written for v1.2.0 of the game but should piece of work for later versions besides. I've added notes where in that location have been changes with newer versions of the game in bold.
Updates
Added info for v1.4.0 patch. Info for new blades and locations of the travelling bards that let y'all exchange XP for Poppi parts.
Maxing to Level 99
To level upward fast, the easiest way is to notice a mutual blade that has the "beast slayer" skill. This skill may seem to have a unbelievably depression 3% chance of instantly killing a creature type enemy but it triggers a lot more than oft that information technology says... Wish it was the aforementioned for summoning the last rare blade like KOS-MOS!
If you take the Galaxy Cube accompaniment that gives you a 60% risk of attacking again after a successful automobile-assail, even better - you can become this by obtaining Salvager Rank S via Argentum, Mochichi.
Anyway once you take a common blade with this skill, go to the Temperantia, Central Plains where you can find iii Deimos Sauros which are level 90+. Y'all can defeat them quickly with the skill and get around 12K XP or more depending on whether the skill triggers when y'all execute a combo. Once you've defeated them all simply quick travel to the same spot again for them to re-spawn.
Just exist sure you don't fight Leonine Sadie which looks like them and appears almost the shattered weapon although yous could e'er requite the unique monster a go.
Once you hit around level 95 you might want to become for the tougher level 100+ UMs considering XP drops drastically afterwards.
Quick Elemental Orbs and Chain Attacks
Orb Main
If you're lucky enough to take a Common Blade with the "Orb Master" skill you can create three elemental orbs in no time.
Version 1.iii.0 of the game added a new feature that allowed y'all to lock your favourite Blades so be certain to make employ of information technology.
As long every bit the Common Blade is currently agile in the fight, any specials used during stage 1 and two will create an orb. This works not bad with the Overclocking Bangle since yous tin switch the blade in quickly when one of the party members have a special ready.
It's not equally fast equally a Poppi DoT build only with the right setup, y'all can terminate the level 130 UM Tyrannotitan Kurodil in less than v minutes with a full burst concatenation attack.
Rex should take Earth Tree Drop, Overclocking Bangle. Everyone else can have Flare-up Symbol and Disquisitional Symbols which will heighten the impairment during the Chain Attack. Hither'south a listing of the places where you tin can become these accessories and some other aux cores.
Accessories
World Tree Driblet
Bumps up your attack every time y'all switch Blades by 12% up to maximum of 250%.
Y'all can fight Artifice Orphion (Lvl 117) for this who drops a terminal key for opening a chest in the Earth Tree, Lower Level, Central Deck s east corner. Or, y'all can fight Beast Hunter William lvl 99 at Uraya, Olethro Playhouse. You'll need to complete a whole chain of quests to fight him though in the guild of We Meet Again, Insurgent Investigations and Farewell Good Friend. So probably easier if yous only get defeat Orphion.
Mk. Vii Arek Lvl 114 in the Earth Tree, Upper Level besides drops the accessory merely hope you know how to handle adds... While you're at it, yous tin can become some Specials one Assault Up V Aux Core drops too.
Overclocking Bangle
Letherian, Fonsett Waters, Ysheva Habor Skyfist Remington lvl 39 drib. Very useful considering it lowers cooldown fourth dimension for switching blades depending on unused arts. Coupled with the World Tree Drop yous can buff up your damage in no fourth dimension.
Critical Symbol
Cliffs of Morytha, Lower Level, Jubilee Gate, Cimson Derrick lvl 58. Tier 3 bumps up critical hit rate by 54% during a chain assault.
Burst Symbol
Tantal, Upper Level. Drop off north of Airborne Throne and into the cave to notice Heroic Edwin lvl 44. You must consummate Dahlia'southward blade quest "Fly in The Ointment" before the creature appears. This accessory bumps upwards your assault power when starting a chain attack.
For pouch items, I used "The Annals of Addam" and "Star divination Fabricated Simple" which tin can be bought from Tantal, Biblio book seller.
If you tin manage it, the following Aux Cores would be handy too only the Lvl 100+ UMs aren't easy with one having lots of adds and the other, nasty ether reflecting and AoE attacks.
Aux Cores
Affinity Max Attack V
Cliffs of Morya, Lower Level, Way of Practitioner, Gladiator Orion lvl 100.
Specials 1 Assail Upwards V
Earth Tree, Upper Level, Mk. 7 Arek Lvl 114. I found the best way to fight this boss is to pull them over to a corner of the room so that the bikes have restricted infinite to move effectually in.
"Tiger! Tiger!" and Customising Poppi
Whether you lot want to give Poppi ane of those crazy solo damage overtime (DoT) builds you run across on YouTube or only want to plough her into a DPS tank you lot're going to need to play lots of "Tiger! Tiger!". I didn't really keep track just you lot'll probably need at least 100,000 ethers to circular off a build and expand all the slots.
I recommend farming stage 2 since information technology's the easiest. If you lot manage to collect all chests you lot are rewarded with 500 ethers also so you tin can get at least 1000 ethers per run.
There is a surreptitious bonus area hidden in every stage that gives you 10 ethers per crystal instead of but i but y'all'll accept to know where to look and information technology doesn't always appear. Sometimes information technology tin can appear twice if you're lucky.
So you can merely sell the parts you lot don't need - I converted all the non level 5 parts which netted a couple of thousand ethers.
You lot don't need to play Stage 5 for tier v parts because you can brand them but, it volition requite you exclusive (and extremely rare!) items namely "Master" parts and the light element but they aren't really essential.
As of v1.1.one there is an easy manner which... Doesn't alter much other than no damage taken when you hit objects. I haven't managed to hit any when collecting treasure chests anyhow.
With the v1.4.0 update you won't have to farm ethers every bit much. In New Game+ y'all can exchange XP for certain parts instead by visiting bards. Lucky you guys playing afterward this patch!
Spirit Crucible'south Entrance - Calorie-free Core, 1M XP
Just down the tunnel.
Cliffs of Morytha, Jubilee Gate - Master Luck, 500K XP
Upper area where the switch for the locked gates are at Cape O-uru and then the nearest travel signal is actually Style of the Practictioner where you must drop downwardly to go to the switch.
Cliffs of Morytha, Inlet - Master Ether, 500K XP
This bard is just right next to the Dibidi, the best merchant for farming gold then you can't miss him.
Land of Morytha, View of a Lost Time - Principal Muscle, 500K XP
You'll demand level 8 Earth Mastery for this besides as Leaping field skills. Travel to Fallen Skyscraper and subsequently making your way up, go all the way south to discover a beam that can be knocked over. Go up the beam so upwardly the long ladder to observe the bard.
Land of Morytha, Megaflote Base - Master Strike, 500K XP
Over again, can't miss the bard just standing exterior.
World Tree, Lv. 2 Mizar: Lower Deck - Chief Tank, 500K XP
Merely standing on the balcony.
Globe Tree, seventh Perimeter Skyport - Master Evasion, 500K XP
Use the airflow to spring up then head through the corridor and y'all'll find the bard in a glass cyclinder corridor.
Technical Manuals
Yous should have come past these if you lot've been exploring areas thoroughly enough. I missed the last 2, one of which required some lockpicking and fortitude field skills.
Uraya, Head, Greatmaw Rapids
As shortly as you fast travel to the location but turn round to the pool backside y'all and it'south on the LHS.
Mor Ardain, Sometime Factory, Industrial Upper Duct
Head direct pass the cantankerous road so jump off the platform and enter the Work Station Tower on the RHS. Caput upward iii flights of stairs and so out onto the platform. Follow the path round to find the red breast.
Tantal, Palace, Hall of Reception
This is just in the storage room the king showed Zeke and it's in the w but past the baby-sit.
Country of Morytha, Streets, Fallen Skyscraper
Make your mode up the skyscraper until yous reach the broken highway. You should have to climb a very tall fence where a monster appears when you arroyo it. Once y'all go out the skyscraper onto the highway, turn correct to head south. Follow the path until the cease where there's rubble and ball sentinel. You'll notice a path behind the rubble that leads west.
Globe Tree, Lower Level, Sky Span
Utilise the elevator in the SE. Make your way down the slope and plow left where there should exist a UM - if you haven't defeated information technology. The white chest is in the place where information technology rolls out of.
Raising Bract Trust and Thought Clouds
Other than luck, a character'south thought deject can also affect the outcome of a bond which is bravery, truth, pity and justice, By increasing trust and unlocking analogousness circles with blades, you can level upwards these thoughts to a maximum of 10.
Quoting one of the NPCs Lomlom who you can find in Argentum, "For person with much bravery, bond with bract adamant by bravery. Other three attributes not even important!"
And so in other words, whatsoever thought is the highest during the bond sequence will end up raising the chances of that detail chemical element actualization apparently. Either the base of operations has to be the highest or, you can use a booster to get in the highest - just one booster can raise the chances of a Blade from that particular element appearing if it can heighten the idea higher than the others.
Each thought is linked to the post-obit elements:
Idea | Element |
---|---|
Bravery | Burn/Water |
Truth | Current of air/Ice |
Compassion | Earth/Electric |
Justice | Low-cal/Night |
However, although the game says that, I find that fifty-fifty with thoughts maxed out, 999 luck and selectively using boosters doesn't alter much... The resulting element ends up being random by and large anyway.
That said, it might yet be worth working on since there are official hints in the game. Some information mining on Reddit where people generate data to work out a blueprint also suggests it does influence the end roll in a way.
To enhance your driver's idea levels fast, you can spam items into a pouch that has been expanded to at least xxx max per item. Set 2 common blades whose trust level is at Eastward - ideally the thought you're trying to increase i.e. if it's justice and then piece of work on raising the trust level for dark blades. And then keep refilling the pouch by spamming the A button. This counts equally the particular being consumed.
You can speed up the process by obtaining the following "human activity" key items which will increase thought point gains by an actress point. You'll take to develop the places and complete all the merc missions though.
Argentum, Fishy Fishy
Argentum, Reedirait Bookstore
Leftherian, Fonsett Island - Talmye Antiques
Note: Yous must check the affinity circle afterward or the circles will not count as unlocked later on. There also appears to be a problems where Blades that take trust levels of Eastward can't unlock their affinity circles after upgrading to v1.3.0 of the game and so, if y'all endeavor this after upgrading the game, sort by chronological order and utilize the near recent blades instead.
By using rare tier III "Conch Music Boxes" from Mor Ardain's Yafush Antiques, I had to refill the pouch 23 times to gain 400 trust points and max out the trust to A for a common blade.
One time y'all've maxed out the trust level, switch out the common blades and echo. It tin still take a long fourth dimension to heighten thought levels this style but this should assistance increase the chances of a rare blade.
Getting Rich Fast with Premium Cylinders
If y'all want to raise thought levels fast, you volition need a lot of gil.
At best, you'll probably only have access to gilt cylinders once you've raised a place development level to the full 4 stars. Merely spending lots of gil buying gold cylinders is enough to raise development levels really although buying key items volition exist skillful too.
In one case you've maxed out the dev level information technology'southward a thing of luck coming across the elusive premium cyclinders. Easiest way is to max out Gormott then repeatedly taking long rests at the inn in that location until they announced at the vendor.
They're non cheap at 25,000 simply just 10 of these is enough to earn you lot over i 1000000 gil back with guaranteed white chests when salvaging fifty-fifty if your blades don't have the salvaging field skills.
I recommend salvaging at the Cliffs of Merytha, Lower Cliff towards the end of the game after you lot have completed the quest "Souvenirs from Morytha" for Dibidi there. It's easiest to collect sets of items and sell at high cost fifty-fifty if yous only take gold cylinders to start with.
You won't be able to make a turn a profit until you lot beat chapter viii of the game i.e. half fashion through the World Tree dungeon when you can sell Salvager Spirit sets for 120.2K each.
Farming Legendary Cadre Crystals
Most of the rare blades come from bonding with core crystals and every bit you may know, there are iii types available to bond with - mutual, rare and legendary. Legendary'southward supposed to have the best rate of obtaining rare blades but I found that nigh of mine actually came from rare ones.
However, since you still have to farm to get rare cores anyway, you might as well get some legendary ones forth the way - the extra XP can come in handy subsequently even if yous're maxed at level 99. The best unique monster I found for this is the Vampiric Bride Marion in Kingdom of Uraya, Head surface area.
You'll find a landmark "Cataracts of Rujah" there. The giant insect seems to take defense force so high it doesn't get down easily fifty-fifty if you're maxed at level 99 and also drops gold chips which you can use to mod weapons to bump up the drop rates.
The goal is to repeatedly perform the Driver Philharmonic intermission, launch and smash so don't bother using skill arts to try and deal every bit much damage as possible. You want to prolong the fight. This way, y'all can get you more than i legendary core per fight (and lots of common/rare cores along the way).
To make it easier to break UMs, yous'll need the Beta Telescopic accessory. Tier 3 ones can be constitute as drops from the Drub Sovereign near the bottom of the lift at the Kickoff Low Orbit Station, Lower Level, Aion Hangar.
For the political party setup mine consisted of Nia as the healer and Morag as the tank. With Nia, any blades that uses the Bitball weapon can break. For Rex, any blade with a nifty axe weapon tin launch but for smashing, only Suzaku with his dual scythes tin practice it unfortunately. Fast Switch aux cores will help speed up the process. If yous're in the level 70s y'all might demand a tank but after that everyone can take attack roles.
It's quite fun to hear some of the blades reaction when fighting the insects, lol.
Some other farming favourite is the higher level bat Insecticore Malcom in Gormott near the Zeno'southward Deadbole just its defence force is really weak so you can't blast that as well many times. The just upside I found with this monster was you didn't have to run support the platform after collecting drops from smashes.
Rare Blades and Luck
Note: With v1.3.0 of the game, y'all can't reach 999 luck any more with the following setup. Yous'll have to swap out the principal story blade such every bit Pyra/Mythra for Rex and supersede them with a tertiary common bract that has a luck modifier.
Notice that iii silhouettes appear during the bonding animation. I found that the commencement 2 that appear are ones that you're very close to getting while the concluding i that appears is the one you actually go. Every fourth dimension I continue seeing a rare silhouette appearing this way, I eventually manage to get them. If I didn't come across annihilation and then I cease up going through a lot of cores and still get nothing from them.
So, if in that location's a item rare blade you're after and y'all don't come across it appearing as one of the first two silhouettes, it probably ways you take to proceed boosting your thoughts or luck... With the exception of KOS-MOS who doesn't seem to have a early on silhouette.
To max out your luck to at least 900+ at that place are accessories and common blades you tin employ. Common blades tin have luck modifiers that can achieve +23% and each 1% can make a departure.
As for the accessories, you can use the same strategy as with farming crystals i.eastward. driver combo break, launch and smash to farm.
Accessories
Golden Gear Choker (Tier III, +27)
From Vess' Tranquility quest.
Comet Chocker (Tier Ii, +31%)
Drop from the UM Mk VI Margot (Lvl 64) in the Earth Tree, Lower Level, Data Processing Room, north of Sky Span. You'll have to climb upwardly one of ii towers to go far there.
Weapon Fries
If you plan to alter the main blades with these chips too to +fifty luck and so simply common blades, Pyra or Mythra can benefit from the bit boost information technology seems unfortunately.
Magnet Chip - Knuckle Claws, Megalance
Unique enemy, Judicial Kollin (Lvl 33). Travel to Mor Ardain, Upper Level, Old Industrial District. From the roof go all the way down the stairs and then follow the passage south until you lot attain a room, Delize'south Infirmary to find the lizard.
Pentagon Chip - Aegis Sword
Unique enemy, Skyfist Remmington (Lvl 39). Leftherian, Fonsett H2o, Ysheva Harbor.
Urelite Chip - Greataxes, Twin Rings, Scythes
Unique enemy, Enlightened Morris (Lvl 42). South due west from Kingdom of Tantal, Lower Level, Neat Pillar Passage at the frozen swimming where you'll demand Fire Mastery and Air current Mastery 4 to defrost the pond. So y'all need H2o Mastery five and Fortitude 3 to dive in to go to Pipitto's Haunt.
Fortunately, non all rare blades are from the random core synchs. The following is a list of the ones from quests:
Poppi QT π | "Powered-up Poppi" back at Tora's home. |
---|---|
Kasandra | Buy the "Greedy Monster" report and defeat the monster in Empire of Mor Ardain. |
Praxis | "Crystal Clear". Buy the Core Crystal Hunters report then go to the back aisle area in Gormott when you lot have more than than 10 core crystals on y'all to trigger a cutscene. |
Theory | "Blade-Sharp Memory". Caput to the Mercenary Army camp, Kingdom of Uraya once Praxis' trust level is at four. |
Vess | "Tranquility" available in Gormott, Torigo. |
Sheba | Purchase the crystal from Gormott'southward "Margia's Odds & Ends". Good blade to have early in the game and 500K gil doesn't take that long if yous salvage at Mor Ardain'due south Port. |
Herald | There's a Shrine of Sealing behind a wall in Kingdom of Tantal that you lot'll need Super Strength to boom through. |
All the other blades will depend on luck. Zenobia ended up being i of my terminal two. Final merely non least (and also the toughest ane to get for near people it seems) was KOS-MOS...
For the record I had Rex'southward luck maxed to 999 considering he was the easiest to max. From the screenshot you can see justice was highest at 9 for his idea deject and I used one justice booster with 1 rare cadre before I finally got KOS-MOS. Rex is a master commuter so probably shouldn't have but, information technology'southward not difficult to become Overdrives from four crown common blades if you send them off on merc missions after maxing their trust.
Annotation: Version i.three.0 of the game makes it even easier to proceeds Overdrives where you can go to Tantal and pay the Travelling Bard most the cafe area 1,000,000 bonus XP for 1.
In the terminate, it's all a thing of luck. So if you've done the following:
- Maxed out commuter's idea level.
- Maxed out commuter'due south luck with accessories and blades.
- Collected the right boosters and rare cores.
Simply still don't get the bract you're subsequently, take a pause, do something else for a while then try once again.
A full listing of blades and their elements can be institute on the Xenoblade Wiki.
Version i.3.0 of the game added vii new blades which you can merely arrive the new "New Game Advance" manner including Akhos, Mikhail and Patroka. They tin all only be obtained via lottery once again unfortunately... With the exception of Mikhail who you can recruit afterwards replaying through to affiliate 9. Simply visit the Country of Morytha, World Tree, Megaflote Base and you'll find him there.
Most of the new blades appeared actually quickly and more often than not via rare cores but again, the last one took the longest to appear.
v1.4.0 adds still another 2 blades although one requires the Expansion Pass to obtain. T-elos Re, KOS-MOS' rival can be obtained by the usual lottery means (again, only in New Game+) while Poppibuster is via an exclusive quest via the pass. Kunihiko Tanaka did the original design for T-elos while "Choco-san" did the new modern Blade blueprint.
Change notes mention how the advent rates for T-elos is much higher than other rare Blades as a thank you for fans finishing the game so you lot should obtain her quite easily. For the record, I did manage to obtain her in fewer rolls - 1x Justice Booster and so that the thought design was the highest and a rare cadre crystal.
v1.5.0 adds Shulk and Fiora from the get-go Xenoblade Chronicles (Wii/New 3DS) as Blades but are simply available via the Expansion Pass equally DLC.
Good luck!
